Through New Year's Eve

What kind of person are you on New Year’s Eve? This lesson looks at the countdown from 2024 to 2025 and the different “types” of people you meet at a New Year’s party. Some cook all night, sing (in tune or not!), dance to every song, or take photos for social media. Others hand out money, work overtime, chant and meditate, or just sit quietly and wait for midnight. You’ll also learn how to talk about the beginning, middle and end of the month.

Thai Vocabulary:
คืนข้ามปี (khʉʉn khâam pii) – New Year’s Eve (lit. “the night crossing the year”)
สาย... (sǎai) – Someone who loves doing ... (e.g. สายเต้น “a dancer type”)
ต้นเดือน (tôn dʉan) – Beginning of the month
สิ้นเดือน (sîn dʉan) – End of the month
ร้องเพลงเพี้ยน (rɔ́ɔng phleeng phíian) – To sing out of tune

Which type are you? Listen along and find out!
