Still & Not Yet

In this Easy Thai lesson, you’ll learn how to use ยัง (yang), one small word with two very useful meanings. First, discover how ยัง means “still”, describing things that haven’t changed over time, and how adding อยู่ or อยู่เลย changes the emphasis. Then learn how Thai speakers use ยัง as a short form of ยังไม่ (not yet), and how to ask and answer everyday questions like “Have you eaten yet?” in both their full and shortened forms.

Thai Vocabulary:
ยังสวยอยู่ (yang sǔay yùu) – Still beautiful
กินข้าวหรือยัง (gin khâao rʉ̌ʉ yang) – Have you eaten yet?
ยังไม่อิ่ม (yang mâi ìm) – Not full yet
อาบน้ำแล้ว (àap náam láew) – Already showered

Listen along, repeat the examples, and you’ll soon be using ยัง naturally in your own Thai conversations!
