Go and Come

Learn when to use มา (maa) and ไป (bpai) like a native speaker. The key is the speaker’s point of view: มา (maa) for movement towards the speaker, ไป (bpai) for movement away. Picture-based examples show both words used for places, for talking about other people, and after verbs like look, climb, run and follow.

Thai Vocabulary:
กลับมา (glàp maa) – To come back
ขึ้นมา (kʉ̂n maa) – To come up
มองออกไป (mɔɔng ɔ̀ɔk bpai) – To look out
อย่าตามมา (yàa dtaam maa) – Don’t follow (me)
หลบไป (lòp bpai) – Get out of the way

The lesson finishes with a relaxed story in natural Thai about running a YouTube channel, finding help with video editing, plans for new beginner videos, and a dream of spending a month or two by the sea in southern Thailand. Listen for every มา (maa) and ไป (bpai) along the way!
