Direction

Learn how to give directions in Thai! This lesson begins with essential vocabulary for getting around: cars, bicycles, motorcycles, roads, traffic lights, zebra crossings and footbridges, plus how to say left, right, turn and go straight. Then follow along on a map as three routes are described step by step: cycling from home to the hospital, driving from a restaurant to a coffee shop, and walking from the coffee shop back home. Try giving the directions yourself before you hear them!

Thai Vocabulary:
เลี้ยวซ้าย (líao sáai) – Turn left
เลี้ยวขวา (líao khwǎa) – Turn right
ตรงไป (dtrong bpai) – Go straight
สี่แยก (sìi yɛ̂ɛk) – Crossroads / Intersection
สะพานลอย (sà-paan loi) – Footbridge / Pedestrian overpass

Watch it again once or twice to help the directions really sink in. Keep listening, keep learning, and enjoy your Thai journey!
