Crispy, Sticky and Soft

Crispy, sticky, or soft? This lesson explores how to describe the texture of food in Thai through a fun tour of favorite snacks and dishes. From crispy pork and prawn crackers to sticky rice, cheesy pizza and fluffy pancakes, you’ll hear lots of Thai food names alongside the words that describe them. There are also a few funny examples of things that are sticky or soft but definitely not for eating, like glue and pillows! You’ll also learn how to describe foods that are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, such as patongko (Thai fried dough) and bread.

Thai Vocabulary:
กรอบ (gròp) – Crispy / Crunchy
เหนียว (nǐao) – Chewy / Sticky
นุ่ม (nûm) – Soft
