Burnout Syndromes

What happens when you lose all motivation for work? This lesson explores burnout in natural Thai. You’ll learn the two meanings of ไฟ (fai), the difference between เหนื่อย (nʉ̀ai) and ล้า (láa), and how built-up negative emotions, stress and pressure can lead to burnout. The lesson also covers three common causes, the health problems burnout can lead to, and a Thai saying with simple advice for looking after your mind.

Thai Vocabulary:
ภาวะหมดไฟ (phaa-wá mòt fai) – Burnout
เหนื่อยล้า (nʉ̀ai láa) – Exhausted / Worn out
ความเครียด (khwaam khrîat) – Stress
ขจัด (khà-jàt) – To eliminate / Get rid of
แปลกแยก (plɛ̀ɛk yɛ̂ɛk) – Alienated / Isolated
